About the role:
We are seeking a SharePoint Consultant to join our Professional Services team in the UK. In this role you will work with both our sales and professional services teams to assist customers in applying unique and best in class FAST Search for SharePoint solutions across a variety of industries.
The successful candidate will be at ease working with clients at early stages of a SharePoint projects including pre-sales, search strategy, solution design. In addition, the role requires significant delivery capability, responsible for designing & implementing FAST Search solutions within SharePoint. Advanced training will be provided on FAST Search for SharePoint.
The Consultant will undertake activities on a project-by-project basis, either individually or as part of a larger team, and projects will vary in duration. The role is located in London, but travel within UK and Europe may be required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deepen their Search and Consulting experience and develop their career with a market leading Search consulting practice.
About the candidate:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following experience & qualifications:
- 5+ years diverse experience in SharePoint architecture, analysis, design and development
- Clear understanding of SharePoint architecture, topologies and best practices
- Knowledge of upgrade paths and strategies for SharePoint products
- Understanding of enterprise infrastructure in relation to SharePoint, including: Database technologies, Active Directory, networking, storage and authentication (Kerberos etc)
- Experience of Scrum – Agile methodology.
- MSc/BSc in Computer Science or related field.
- Previous experience of FAST or other search solutions is desirable

- SharePoint Server 2010/Moss 2007
- ASP.NET
- SQL Server 2005/2008
- WPF/Silverlight
- SharePoint Designer
- Visual Studio
- Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010
- Microsoft OCS/Lync (desirable)
- HTML5 (desirable)
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and partner led teams to develop the best search solution.
- Support and feed into the technical architecture of the solution.
- Be actively involved in designing and implementing Search solutions on the SharePoint platform and related components.
- Be responsible for the delivery of Search on the SharePoint platform, the changes and upgrades necessary to meet the business objectives.
- Provide technical input and business knowledge to ensure efficient design, programming and implementation.
- Understand performance issues and approach them systematically.
- Conduct technical studies and evaluations of business area requirements and recommend appropriate technological alternatives.
- Maintain an objective and up-to-date market perspective across this continually evolving technology.
In addition to a thorough knowledge of SharePoint, the successful candidate must be:
- Customer focused with a demonstrable interest in each customer’s business requirements, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Able to work with a diverse range of stakeholders encompassing user and technical communities through to Senior Management.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills when working with internal and external teams to achieve successful business outcomes.
