About the role:
We are seeking an Enterprise Search Consultant to join our Professional Services team in the UK. In this role you will work with both our sales and professional services teams to assist customers in applying unique and best in class Enterprise Search solutions across a variety of industries.
This role will be a significant delivery role, responsible for designing & implementing Enterprise Search solutions. The Consultant will undertake activities on a project-by-project basis, either individually or as part of a larger team, and projects will vary in duration. The role is located in London, but travel within UK and Europe may be required. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to deepen their Search and Consulting experience and develop their career with a market leading Search consulting practice.
About the candidate:
The successful candidate must demonstrate the following experience & qualifications:
- 3+ years experience with Microsoft search solutions or FAST/Endeca/Autonomy/Solr.
- 5+ years hands-on experience delivering applications in a technical delivery role.
- Experience of Scrum – Agile methodology.
- Technology: J2EE or .NET.
- MSc/BSc in Computer Science or related field.
Technical experience in Enterprise Search solutions and one or more of the following areas:
- Collaboration platforms
- Content Management systems
- E-Commerce platforms
- Business Intelligence platforms
Functional/subject area domain experience in one or more of the following:
- SharePoint
- Collaboration solutions
- Customer facing applications (e-commerce, media, content site, extranet/intranet)
- Financial service applications
- Business Intelligence and/or Data Warehousing applications
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with internal and partner led teams to develop the best search solution
- Support and feed into the technical architecture of the system
- Provide technical input and business knowledge to ensure efficient design, programming and implementation of the Search platform and related components
- Be responsible for the delivery of the Search platform, the changes and upgrades necessary to meet the business objectives
- Understand performance issues and approach them systematically.
- Conduct technical studies and evaluations of business area requirements and recommend appropriate technological solutions.
- Maintain an objective and up-to-date market perspective across this continually evolving technology.
In addition to a thorough knowledge of search applications, the successful candidate must be:
- Customer focused with a demonstrable interest in each customer’s business requirements, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.
- Able to work with a diverse range of stakeholders encompassing user and technical communities through to Senior Management.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills when working with internal and external teams to achieve successful business outcomes.
